One of the most common questions we get asked these days is “how much more money will I have to spend if I want a concrete retaining wall instead of a timber wall?” The answer is… “not as much as you would think!”

We obtained quotes from a variety of Brisbane timber retaining wall installers, and we found that our concrete sleeper system is only about 10 – 15% more expensive… Keep in mind that timber only lasts about 1/3 as long as concrete – so it seems smart to spend a little bit extra now on installing a concrete wall, knowing that you will have a stable, durable retaining wall for many years to come. No expensive rectification costs, low maintenance, and termite resistant – sounds good doesn’t it?!
